The old way of wrapping a leg was to have the nurse hold the leg while the physician wrapped the foot and heel, and then rest the leg against his/her thigh or stomach to wrap the calf and upper leg. If a patient was 300-800 pounds this was a laborious, backbreaking task. Today, physicians and nurses can wrap a patient’s foot, heel, calf and leg in a matter of seconds with only one person using the MTI Leg Wrapping Support™. The nurse rests their foot on the calf support to wrap the foot and heel, and then flips over leg wrap for a heel support to wrap the calf and upper leg. This leg wrap is available in a plug-n-play spline option on the foot of all MTI 527 or 450 MTI Exam Chairs, or there is a portable version that can be used with any manufactured chair.
